Where installations require added protection from the risks of fire, we now offer our revolutionary new flame retardant SHINKOLITE^TM FR3, which is the only acrylic sheet that meets UL 94 V0 while retaining all of the excellent aesthetic and performance characteristics associated with acrylic.
By way of explaining the UL 94 V0 Standard: UL 94 is the Standard for Safety and Flammability of Plastic Materials for Parts in Devices and Appliances testing; V0 means burning stops within 10 seconds on a vertical specimen; particle drips are permissible so long as they are not flames. Conformance to UL 94 V0 is an indication that the product is acceptable with respect to flammability for a particular application. In order to retain these performance characteristics, it is important not to laser cut or flame polish SHINKOLITE^TM FR.
